This one here is an incredibly lightweight mid-layer that keeps the wind off the front of the body while allowing ample breathability through the mesh side panels. But what you’ll really appreciate is how the designers use the stretch panels on the sides and back of the sleeves to make this jacket fit like a second skin: no flappy material, no cold air circulating inside the jacket, no more throwbacks to the Armstrong era. The Castelli Aria Shell W Jacket is light and warm enough to wear for the entire ride in mild conditions, but when you want to take it off, it fits into the integrated side pocket and can be stuffed into your jersey bag or a saddle bag for minimal space.
